Founded in 1932, OPCA - Obras Públicas e Cimento Armado, SA, is a general contractor that can boast of having been awarded one of the most extensive range of contracts for Public Works and Construction tendered on the Portuguese market.

Bridges and viaducts, highways and roads, harbors, urban-mining projects, underground galleries and metro stations, hospitals, concrete dams, airports, sewage-treatment plants and systems, and special foundations are just some of the main jobs carried out by OPCA over the past 60 years.

We operate mostly in mainland Portugal. But, OPCA does however get involved in a considerable number of projects in other areas of the globe. Such as in Macao, Madeira, The Azores, Germany, Brazil, Angola and Mozambique. In addition, we currently have permanent offices in the latter two African countries.

Three of Portugal's leading financial groups - Espírito Santo, Totta/Champalimaud and Mello, make up OPCA's core shareholders. Between them, they hold 98% of our capital stock, amounting to PTE 5 million.
