Sonicarla was founded on July 11th, 1974 by António Ferreira. In October of the same year, production began with just six workers. Today, the company has 270 employees. With its roots linked to the textile sector – knitting and garment manufacturing industries – Sonicarla produces a vast and diverse range of clothing.

At first, only catering for the Portuguese market, the company now exports around 99%. This came in the wake of the company having signed its first foreign contract in 1978.

Thanks to the company’s most recent major investment in cutting-edge technology, which has been applied to the circular system for knitted fabrics during the past two years, Sonicarla has been able to achieve a leading position in Seamless articles. 

Currently, Sonicarla is the only vertical Seamless unit in Portugal.
